General Post Office

Gole Dak Khana which means round post office, was formerly known as Alexandra Place. It is now officially the General Post Office at Ashoka Place with the unique pin code of 110001. It was the office of the Central Public Works Department till the 1960s. Plans to convert this roundabout into a garden have never materialized. This circular structure oddly stands in the centre of a giant roundabout in the heart of Delhi. Th low rise circular design makes it remain well hidden and you could be standing right in front of it and still miss it.
