A concise gazetter of the world

Abe has a pretty old dictionary lying around the house. It once belonged to an old gentleman. We reckoned the book to be quite rare but an internet search revealed it was fairly available.

Anyway, it was in quite poor condition and the cover was missing.

ANNANDALE, CHARLES The New Gresham Dictionary of the English Language;London; Gresham; c1920;. 7 x 9.25"; 937pp; green cloth boards, green leather spine, worn to top and bottom edges, with gilt title; good clean tight copy; 32 plates plus numerous drawings within the text; pages 817 to 937 consists of various supplements, including List of English and American Writers, and Diary of the Great World War; shipping weight 2.2kg;.

It has a certain air and feel of the era gone by. The browned pages of the book captures the world of 1920's.

Interesting demographics of the British Empire

Political Maps of the 1920's. The countries and divisions of the world are quite different from the present
Smells like team spirit (read: colonialism)
