Western Court

The plaque outside the building describes the structure as:

"The three-storeyed building of the 1920's was designed by R.J.Russel, chief architect to the Government of India for use as hostels for legislators. It is a three storeyed block in stucco plaster. The two floors above the massive arcaded grounds have been treated as a continuous verandah with giant Etruscan columns of double floor height"

In Lutyens Delhi, the place is often compared to the Champ elysses of Paris with some of the beautiful buildings like the Eastern and Western courts on the two sides.

Currently, the Western Court serves as a transit hostel for Members of Parliament.
